AJTC CLUB DUATHON – THE RODDEN
Meet 10am Shiskine Surgery
Apologies for the late information on this – this should be a fun event and we will learn a few things about running some races. Please come and give it a go.
Instead of the usual Sunday training session at the High School we are going to have a test event in Shiskine – along the Rodden.
We are able to close the road so it will be a safe environment for club members to practice competing.
As usual, the duathlon event starts with a run, then through transition and on to a bike leg, returning to transition before a final run leg. No swimming this time -that is only possible on the Rodden for a few days each year.
We will need some volunteers to help the competitors and ensure safety. We will need 5 volunteers to allow the events to go ahead safely so if your kids are coming along please stay and help out if you are able.
Marshalls will be ensuring cars know the road is fully closed and keep the competitors right regards the course.
The Shiskine Surgery car park will be the main base and start/finish point. Parents can park here. Toilets will be open in the surgery and it is well equipped for first aid.
The transition area is in the middle of the course and bikes and transition gear will need to be readied in this area before the race starts
There will be a short briefing before the race starts to ensure everyone is familiar with the general rules and the start, course and finish.
